Sarah Haggerty – MFT-Intern

Sarah_HaggertySarah Haggerty is a Marriage a Family Therapist Intern who has been working with Candlelighters for almost two years. She is a Las Vegas native and attended UNLV for her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She provides counseling and support services to individuals, children, teens, couples, and groups that are part of our Candlelighters family. She enjoys utilizing creative therapeutic techniques to meet the needs of our diverse clientele, such as art, relaxation, horticultural, and play therapy. Sarah is bi-lingual providing therapeutic services in Spanish and English and facilitates a monthly Spanish speaking parent’s support group at the Candlelighters office. Additionally, she is working to create community partnerships by creating projects that involve Candlelighters families with the work she does with UNLV Division of Educational Outreach as the Coordinator for Horticultural Therapy Programs.

We encourage you to utilize the therapeutic services that Candlelighters has to offer to help you cope with the trauma and stress that accompany cancer. As families support their child through treatment there are many traumatic aspects that affect each member of the family. Sarah works with each family to meet their individual needs, and is facilitating an expanding number of groups targeted for various age groups.
