Lea A. Lucibella, ATR – Art Therapist

Lea began a career in art therapy after working for several years as an art teacher. She began to notice images in student artwork that she intuitively knew was of concern, however other than referring students to the counselor she wasn’t sure how to respond.  This is what led Lea to a lifelong love of helping other and continuing her education in the field of Art Therapy.

In the past art has always been something Lea turned to as a way to reduce stress. Lea feels she is at her best when she is involved in the creative process.  It is her goal to bring healing of mind and body to those looking for an alternative form of therapy.

Lea attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and earned a BA in textile design and a Teaching Certification in Art.    While teaching art for the Clark County School District in Nevada, Lea attended Grand Canyon University to receive a MA of Arts in Education. Later, Lea attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY and received a Masters in Creative Arts Therapy.

Lea has worked with many populations, focusing on Seniors, Children and Families.  She has worked in a variety of settings, such as, NV State Psychiatric Facility, Senior Centers, Hospice, Public Schools and Hospitals.  Lea’s knowledge, experience and passion makes her a wonderful asset to the families of Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Organization of Nevada.  She truly enjoys helping individuals process and make connections between their art expression and feelings.
